Someone asked me recently to share my favourite activewear workout tanks, and I thought it was probably about time, as I seem to recommend tights a LOT! I have almost as many tanks as I do tights, so it shouldn’t be too hard 😉
So what do I look for in a workout tank?
Well, the fabric needs to be breathable because I sweat enough as it is.
I like a loose tank too (don’t feel comfortable in tops that cling to my wobbly middle). I like a good range of movement, whilst also delivering ample coverage given I’m not a skinny minnie 20 something (or even 30 something hahaha).
Here are my seven most commonly worn activewear workout tanks, and why they’re on high rotation. Click on the coloured links under the photos if you want to start shopping.
1. Swiftly Tank by lululemon
This tank is as light as air, super comfy, dries in a flash and is made with Silverscent, to stop you smelling all sweaty. I’m not even going to tell you how many I have of these.
2. Dharma Bums Motivation Boyfriend Muscle Tees
Soft and fluid bamboo fabric, ethically made in Australia and what is not to love about these slogans?
Love the muscle shape and dropped armholes (that aren’t toooo dropped).
3. JAGGAD Muscle Tank
A staple classic muscle tee made of a merino blend that helps regulate body temperature.
Available in classic black, and white, as well as some seasonal hues, this is one tank that you’ll be pulling out to wear over and over.
4. Vie Active Sasha Merino Tank
I have a few of these from when they were first released a year or two ago, I love them because of their longer length.
So if you’re tall like me, or just like a bit of extra bum coverage, these are perfect for you. Just released in grey (and click here to find out about a special discount).
5. The Upside Issy Tank
The shape and fit of these tanks is really flattering. A great scoop neck, iconic The Upside logo across the chest and you can usually find, at any one time, an Issy made of whatever fabric you prefer… soft jersey for yoga, or a wicking material for the more sweaty stuff.
6. Down Force Tank by P.E Nation
A newcomer to my faves list! This tank is awesome… the colour blocking, pretty shades but tomboy styling and shape. I don’t normally wear a lot of colour up top, so this is a bright change and super comfy too. Love.
7. Ivy Park Logo Drop Armhole Tank
I love working out in this tank – lightweight fabric, great cut (really flattering for a muscle tank) and bold statement logo across the chest. Plus, it’s less than $35 from The Iconic.
And it’s designed by Queen Bey herself. Crazy in love.
