Not being a triathlete (haha), it was a new brand for me, but I was immediately drawn to their Ikela Tights and ordered a pair. I figured if Stylerunner love them, I probably will too. And boy did I love that pair of tights. Loved them so much, I ordered the second colourway too. Within about 20 minutes of receiving the first.
And the reasons I love them? Well they’re cool in a subtle way. They don’t scream and shout, they just ‘be’ and let their quality and design do the talking. The printed version gets comments every single time I wear them, without fail. EVERYONE wants to know where they’re from.
And the black version with white logo on the leg? Well, being a bit of a mono-fan, I’m just totally in love with these. They’re classic, simple, stylish. The fabric is super-supportive and the cut and quality second to none – no see-through issues here, ladies, bend and stretch all you want, JAGGAD’s got you covered.
Best of all, these tights have magical powers. I swear I drop a dress size the minute they go on, they are the most flattering of tights I own; they suck you up, hold you in, make you look and feel amazing. Hurray for Ikela!
My 6 year old son even has a matching pair of tights, aren’t we just the cutest? Not that his little peachy bottom needs any help, but anyway, they look super cool on him, turn him into a little training pro on the pitch, for sure. Ronaldo, eat your heart out.
And I just know we are going to be super-thankful for these coming into winter when he’ll be running around that soccer field in the cold, riding his bike along wet tracks, getting jumpy on the breezy gymnastics floor.
Only wish my hubby would wear anything other than CrossFit tees when he works out, because the men’s range is gorgeous too. (WHY is it that CrossFitters only wear CrossFit tees, All. The. Time?!)
JAGGAD have recently launched their new range, which includes my new fave – the branded muscle tee. I feel a bit like a broken record saying it’s simple, classic, stylish, but it is. In a beautiful merino wool blend, too. There’s running tanks, yoga tights, shorts, long-sleeved tops…
And the new cycling gear almost makes me want to go get a real bike and hit the road. Almost. (Too terrified.) Maybe one day I’ll just buy up the pro outfit anyway, and totally rock it at spin class haha.
If you’re lucky enough to live in the vicinity of Elwood, Victoria, then pop in to the warm and welcoming eclectic space that is The Milk Bar. Here, you can see, feel and try the garments and maybe pick up some hand cream or a cycling magazine while you’re there.
In Sydney, fivemore in Paddington stocks JAGGAD too.
Want to know more?
Well, the JAGGAD brand’s heritage is in triathlon. A few years ago, it was bought by a team with a bigger vision, a team that includes Aussie sporting legends Steve Greene and Chris Judd. They set about revitalising the brand into a multi-sport one, and have 8 principles by which they design their clothes: Useful, Beautiful, Honest, Simple, Durable, Detailed, Appropriate and Innovative.
What this means is that the gear caters to the exacting standards of the pro athletes but is also accessible to the masses who undertake their own version of ‘a life athletic’. The result is a perfectly put-together capsule range for the cyclist and triathlete but also the everyday runner, yogi and gym-goer too.
So it doesn’t matter who you are because Jaggad makes you feel just as important as any sporting royalty wearing the brand. There is an authenticity, inclusivity and sense of community about the brand that I love. They just seem like really nice humans. And it makes me happy spending my money with them, because if you could choose who’s clothes to wear, wouldn’t you like to pick the ones designed and made by nice humans? I know I would.
PS. Photos used are a combination of my own and ones from JAGGAD’s latest campaign. I don’t think it’s hard to tell which is which 😉
