Sam Wood is back on TV, but this time, it’s his credentials in the health and fitness industry that’s earned him his stripes, rather than his search for love.
As the resident fitness expert on Everyday Health, Sam joins a team of professionals who will discuss all things health every weekday afternoon.
There’s a lot more to Sam than being The Bachelor… he founded Australia’s first kids gym back in 2006 and last year opened The Woodshed, a huge training space in Melbourne (which is awesome, just quietly, I trained there last year with him and our friends at JAGGAD and it was epic).
More recently, Sam devised his ‘28 minutes for 28 days’ health and fitness program 28 By Sam Wood, which is already seeing thousands of participants smash their physical and wellbeing goals.
So with all this going on, as well as his long-distance relationship with the gorgeous Snez, does Sam ever get any sleep?
“Haha. It does feel a little like that but sleep is key and always makes you more productive, not less. My magic number is 7. Always aim for 7 hours.”
Sam joins the Everyday Health team as the workout guru.
Naturally. Once again, he’s surrounded by women haha… none of these are trying to win his heart, however (that’s well and truly spoken for)…
There’s Dr Bridie O’Donnell, the medical expert (who also happens to be a world champion cyclist), Casey Beros, a health coach, journalist and barre instructor, plus gorgeous host Tiffany Cherry.
Now that the first week’s all done and aired, I asked Sam how it feels to be back on TV…
“It is great. Obviously a VERY different experience but this is what I do. I love working in the health and fitness space. I have done it for 15 years and I will be doing it for another 15.”
And his favourite moment so far?
“I would have to say the interview we did with Monique Murphy. A Paralympic swimmer about to head off to Rio, that is one of the most positive and inspiring people I have ever met.”
If you missed the first week, make sure you tune in now – if you’re near a TV set in the afternoon and need a bit of health and fitness inspo, the show is on Channel Ten at 2:30pm Monday to Friday. You can also catch it on TENPlay.
Get on the couch and Sam will give you some ideas on how to get off it 😉
