I love Lola Berry.
Everything she does and everything she says comes straight from the heart. She oozes positivity and joy, and is so refreshingly genuine. The world would be a happier place if there were more Lolas in it.
The nutritionist, author, yoga teacher, smoothie bar owner and all round Insta superstar is in Sydney this weekend, taking a quick break from shooting her latest book to talk and teach at The Fitness Show at Darling Harbour.
I grabbed her for five minutes for a bit of a low-down on Lola’s world right now.
Lola, I hear you’re shooting for your ninth book right now (yay by the way!)… what’s your fave part of creating a cookbook?
Working with people who inspire me. Creating new recipes, and seeing what the team thinks of them. And this book is really fun because it’s so different to anything else I’ve done.
Plus today we shot heaps of yoga which was exciting.
Tell us a bit about this book?
It’s all a bit of a secret at the moment but I’m really excited about the tone change of this book. It’s a brand new concept for me and the amazing team behind it!
What’s your number one dish from it, so we know what to cook first?
Hmmm, the Smore’s Protein Balls are my favourite ball creation at the moment!! Best recipe yet I reckon! Just like the Smore’s American treat with melted chocolate, biscuits and marshmallows but healthy!
OMG, they sound amazing, yes please! Can you give us any sneaky peaks into your playlist for your Hip Hop Yoga class at The Fitness Show this weekend?
I’ve just finished making it, so there’s a bit of Drake and Frank Ocean but also some fun old-school stuff like 90’s Snoop Dog, Dr Dre and Biggie!
Ha, best yoga playlist ever. Who would you most love to downdog with at the Show?
Anyone who’s open to trying yoges with me 🙂
I saw on Insta that you have a little crush right now 😉 Any goss?
Hahaha, now that’s a secret!
Fair enough 😉 What’s next for Lola?
Well this book in Australia. There’s also Happy Place smoothie bar in Melbs. Then I have lots of travel here, then it will be time for LA in the Winter.
Your top advice for anyone wanting to clean up their diet?
Just eat real food would be my number one tip, and do it for you and no one else. That’s the key – health is the gift you give yourself.
Thanks Lola! Have a great weekend here in sunny Sydney.
Meet Lola and even take a Hip Hop Yoga Class with her at the Fitness Show, April 28-30 at the International Convention Centre, Darling Harbour, Sydney.
