These Golden Turmeric Bliss Balls are so freakin delicious. Plus you get all the health benefits of turmeric with that flavour sensation, win win.
I use fresh turmeric and fresh ginger here. My time-saving prep tip – buy a few ‘thumbs’ or roots of turmeric. Peel and then use the stick blender to give you a kind of dry turmeric paste. Store this in an airtight glass jar in the fridge, and use for recipes like this one.
Or make yourself a Turmeric Latte, add it to smoothies, marinades, etc.
If you’re using ground turmeric powder instead, reduce the amount (use roughly a third at first and taste test as you go to see if you need more).
Be prepared for orange fingers haha, or wear gloves when you handle the turmeric. I always forget the gloves and end up looking like I’ve had an epic spray tan disaster or have just chain smoked a couple of packs of cigarettes. But it’s worth it 😉
1 cup cashews
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
150g dried mango
Juice and rind of one lemon
2 teaspoons turmeric paste (see above, or use 1/2 – 1 teaspoon ground turmeric and taste test to see if you need more)
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
Plus extra desiccated coconut for dusting
Just put all the ingredients in a blender and whizz it all up until it’s a consistency that’s great for rolling.
Leave some texture if you can. Then roll into balls in the palms of your hands and dust in coconut. Pop in the fridge to set a little, and store in there too.
