A year or so ago, I wrote Sport in a D Cup; My 8 Favourite Sports Bras for Bigger Boobs and just recently updated my choices with Banish The Bounce; 7 Great Sports Bras for the D Cup.
Now, whilst there are many advantages of being well-endowed, I have always been slightly envious of my smaller breasted friends who can wear a pretty summer slip with no bra, can just choose a skimpy triangle bikini online knowing it’ll fit just fine, or a cute little strappy crop top under their sports gear. Oh the joy of not having to wear a big old hammock contraption when out on a run…
So, because I have no experience of these joys, my insta-buddy Hollie Kempton (who also happened to give us some advice on Best Fit Gear for Short Girls and Plant Based Goodness) gives us the lowdown on the best sports bras for the little boobies… Over to you, Hollie x
So if you’re like me and have been accused of being in the “itty bitty titty committee” this information is for you.
All of you first-letters-of-the-alphabet girls I have put together some of my favourite sports bras. Even though our breasts are not big we still need to ensure that we support our assets.
Remember we are all unique, so always try before you buy.
When you want to hit the ground running and make sure there is no uncomfortable jiggle I have two favourite bras that have always got your back, or breasts in this case.
Lorna Jane Comfort Bra
This bra not only makes me feel supported but has padded inserts that don’t make me look totally flat. The LJ Excel fabric keeps you cool, dry and supported. There is normally a range of colours if you want to add a pop of colour to one of your favourite athletic ensembles.
New Balance Shapely Shaper Bra
The next pick is from a brand that has really stepped up their game and is making some really cute and functional pieces.
This bra is tougher than it looks and has great motion control for those wanting something both breathable and supportive. We want to hold our girls down but not suffocate them. And they have a range of different colours to choose from.
Think cycle classes, circuit training and weights…
Nike Pro Classic
I really like the comfort and amazing colours and patterns of the Nike Pro Classic Padded Bra.
It has compression fit and removable pads. The Dri-FIT fabric keeps you cool and comfy. I also enjoy the coverage of the Nike Pro as I never feel like a peek a boo moment is around the corner.
Adidas Racer Back Bra
Is a classic looking sports bra. I like the simplicity of design and the ventilating mesh at the back that allows air flow. It also has some light padding and is high at the front, very handy for me when teaching a Pump class on stage without doing a boobie show.
When you want to do downward dog in comfort and then hit the cafes for some brunch. Lets face it, normal bras are just not as comfortable as their sporty cousins.
I just can’t go past Lorna Jane. There are loads of colours to match your outfit and you will be turning heads at your local yoga/pilates studio. Here are two of my favourites:
Lorna Jane Pammy Bra
I have a few of these in basic colours and I like the adjustable straps and padding.
Lorna Jane Check Me Bra
This one has a super cute monochrome print, is quick drying and fits really well under the bust, giving a lovely shape while being super comfortable.
So remember just because your boobs don’t stop traffic doesn’t mean we should skimp on support or style.
Walk tall and proud, small-breasted sisters.
