Remember when Julia Roberts got an entire Rodeo Drive boutique to herself to shop up a storm?
Well on Sunday afternoon, I got to have my own Pretty Woman moment when the gorgeous people of Stylerunner shut down their concept store for an hour or two for me to enjoy a private shopping ‘lock-in’ with a bunch of girlfriends.
Stylerunner CEO Julie Stevanja even came and hung with us, offering advice and chatting with the girls.
Oh. My. Athleisure!
The Stylerunner LIT (Live In Trainers) pop-up store on Oxford Street in Paddington is a beautiful, large space that formerly housed a designer boutique.
With polished concrete floors, neon signage and a whole wall of sneakers, this place is an activewear addict’s dream. Literally. Racks and racks of the latest and greatest luxe sportswear to touch, feel, try on and yes, fall in love with. Brands like Adidas and Nike, First Base, P.E Nation, Puma, Varley, Le Coq Sportif, Stussy and Puma.
We came, we ate, we drank, we chattered, we laughed, we shopped and we conquered.
It was so much fun.
And yes, whilst having a private shopping experience with Julie is a bit special, really, a regular visit is pretty awesome too.
First up because of the epic staff. On Sunday, we were looked after so well by Victoria and Angela. On a previous visit (a regular one, without wine and nibbles!), Andreas and Stevie were the bomb too. Service and styling with a smile.
If you’re not sure what to buy, just ask them for a bit of help. Not only do they know the stock inside out, but they know what to put with what, how to wear something, which pieces suit your body shape.
On the day, we all agreed that one of the things we loved the most was getting to try on some pieces that we mightn’t have ordered online because we weren’t sure of the sizing/fit/fabric.
At the LIT store, you can try it all on! And we did! All of it haha! The changing rooms are huge, well-lit and have a great big mirror inside each one hurrah.
The store itself might look like it’s been years in the making (it really is THAT good) but in fact the Stylerunner dream team put the whole thing together in about two weeks. Enlisting the creative guidance of Federico Maccapani of @mbroidered, they’ve built a space that not only houses some store-exclusive sportswear and some extra special pieces but also events, yoga and fitness classes (see Stylerunner.com/LIT for event details).
Stylerunner has partnerned with ClassPass to bring you a series of exclusive sessions not to be missed. More details to come on the new schedule, watch this space.
The LIT store has proven to be such a hit that this morning Stylerunner has announced they are extending the pop-up until late December. And they’re adding a gift wrapping service while they’re at it. So you know exactly where to go to get your bestie’s Christmas pressie (and where to send the hubby/boyfriend/mum for yours too #justsaying).
Perhaps even more exciting is that t-shirt personalisation is coming back to stay! Everyone went nutso for the printing service that adorns the backs of tees with your name, number, team name… whatever you like. It was so popular that Stylerunner have bought their very own machine and will be offering the service ongoing. Talk about listening to your customers, yay!
So what are you waiting for? Get on down to Stylerunner LIT.
You’ll find the store at 17 Oxford Street in Paddington until 24th December 2016.
Thank you Stylerunner for an awesome ‘Pretty Woman’ afternoon… shame I didn’t have Richard Gere to whisk me off to the opera afterwards, but hey, who needs a private jet when you’ve got brand new sneakers?
